Anti-static bulk bags, also known as conductive bulk bags, are classified into four categories based on the degree of their potential to cause electrostatic ignition hazards and their internal construction. This classification method is widely adopted by many in Europe. In June 2003, the European Committee for Electrotechnical Standardization (CENELEC) published the document CLC/TR 50404, titled "Electrostatics – Code of Practice for the Avoidance of Hazards Due to Static Electricity." This is a comprehensive standard covering electrostatic practices across various industrial sectors, with one chapter specifically detailing safe guidelines for the electrostatic use of bulk bags. According to this standard, bulk bags are categorized into four types: Type A, Type B, Type C, and Type D.
